Embroidery 103

Are you ready to learn more about your Aveneer, Luminaire and Stellaire? Do you want to make beautiful machine embroidered and quilted projects but don't quite know where to start? Come take this class! Don't quite know what all those buttons are for on your machine? Come take this class!
This class will have two parts; a short lecture and practical. In other words, sewing and talking.
In this class, we will do three projects. One will be applique, one will be embroidery, and one can be a combination.
You will need two embroidery designs. They should be fairly simple with few color changes. A 15 – 20 minute stitch out time is a good indicator. For the applique, just three or four fabrics. OESD or Designs by JUJU are good sources. If you choose a design from OESD, be sure to check the stitch out time. Some of their designs are very time-consuming.
You do not need to purchase or download any quilting designs. We will be using the designs on your machine.
One of the designs can be used for the center of a Folded Star Table Topper. The other one can be used to make a pillow, a table runner, a topper, or whatever you like. We will not be making a finished project in this class. If you need help turning your embroidered/quilted pieces into finished projects, come to my Sit ‘N Sew class!
As we have learned in previous classes, quilting on your embroidery machine works best if you use a magnetic hoop. Be sure to bring yours to class. If you do not have one, I have two available or check with a friend to borrow one. One of mine is 10” square and the other is 7” x 14”. Let me know ahead of time if you need to use one as this will affect your project size.
Please have your machine clean, with a new size 75 embroidery needle and a full bobbin.
