Drop Zone Zippered Pouches

These zippered pouches come in three sizes and open to form shallow trays that provide visibility and easy access to the contents. The grab tabs facilitate opening and closing, and the d-rings allow for the attachment of a strap. 

This class is designed for beginning bag makers who want to learn essential techniques and create stylish zippered pouches. It involves techniques such as quilting and stabilizing fabrics, installing a zipper on a curve, and binding raw edges for a clean appearance. 

Because there is quite a bit of bulk in the seams of most handmade bags, you will need a machine that has a lot of power to handle the thickness of the seams during assembly. A small travel machine may not be suitable for this project. 

To make the learning experience even more rewarding, we will experiment with different quilting patterns and learn how to efficiently manage bulkier materials.
