We are thrilled to welcome Bernina Longarm Ambassador Susan Smith on August 25th and 26th. Advance your free Hand quilting with this 2-day intermediate hands-on class! In this class, we will work with a panel-based project. You will learn how to add texture to the Lion, trees, and sky while quilting the borders with confidence! Yes, even when they are pieced! If you own a longarm and want to step up your quilting game this class is right for you.

This class is limited to 6 students on the long arms and 2 on sit-downs. When you sign up please state which machine you own so we can place you in the proper machine. Once you have signed up, pick up your kit. Kit includes pattern, panel, and all fabrics to make the wall hanging. Backing and Batting will be given on day of class. Please make sure to pick up your kit prior to class to ensure you have time to sew it together.

Instructor: Susan Smith
Instructor Bio: Hi there! I'm Susan! I grew up in northern BC, Canada, in a home reminiscent of the pioneer days, with no electricity or indoor plumbing. In those cold winters, sleeping under a handmade quilt with wool batting from the family sheep was the ultimate luxury. I learned to sew and make quilts on a treadle sewing machine, alongside my mother. I?ve never stopped sewing and creating and petting fabric since. In 2015 I purchased my first longarm quilting machine and fell in love with the art of freehand quilting. Since then I?ve accumulated a wall full of local and national ribbons, but what means the most to me is encouraging novice quilters. Since Kindergarten show and tell I?ve loved explaining things, so now I teach longarm quilters a step-by-step approach to freehand quilting so they can move out of paralysis and into confidence and freedom.
